Welcome to People First Method

Welcome to People First Method! I’m Jon Cline and we are so glad that you’ve chosen to advance your professional development with us. You may be asking yourself, “Why should I care about what I learn over the next 6 months?” That is a fair question.

Why Should You Care?

My goal is to help you see the value of what I’ve learned over twenty plus years of consulting. I can bring the lessons that I’ve learned to you and you can benefit from my pain and make it your gain.

I started out as a Salesforce user back in 2003 and I worked with consultants. Later I became a Salesforce consultant working with nonprofits, and then a Salesforce consultant for businesses. I was part of various teams, then also a leader of teams, and that’s what I am today.

I love the work of leading a team of consultants, making the lives of my team and my clients better. I am compelled, in whatever capacity I have, to share with people how they can learn from the mistakes that I have made. I love investing in people and spreading the learning and knowledge that I have because of all the people who’ve invested in me.

I don’t propose to have the best way of doing any of the items we’ll discuss. My hope is that they’re food for thought, and they get you thinking in a new way, giving you a vantage point or a perspective that you haven’t thought about before. I want to make connections that have really been inspiring to my work as I work with clients. It’s my desire to bring that customer success promise that Salesforce talks about.

You as the consultant are the one who really brings that customer success promise to life. If it doesn’t happen with you, sometimes it never happens with Salesforce. My hope is to bring that promise to life in you to inspire you with those ‘people first concerns’.

Ultimately, from my perspective, it helps me pay it forward because I want to see more projects be successful. I want to see more people taking advantage of this great platform that has been a life changer for me for the last 20 years. I want to enable you to leverage the tools you’ll discover in this program every day in your business. So that you’ll be recognized for:

  • The skill and acumen you have
  • All of the investment in your own experience that you’ve undergone
  • Your own learning that you can demonstrate on these projects

My hope is that you’ll take these axioms, courses and vignettes, and you’ll put them into practice in your own way, really being committed to the outcome.

What Can You Expect?

As you go through this course, many of the things you’ll hear might sound like they’re out of context related to Salesforce work, but I assure you everything I talk about is going to relate to my twenty plus years as a Salesforce user and a Salesforce consultant. My goal is to help you be the best Salesforce consultant that you can possibly be. I don’t want weekend warriors. I want to help you be a professional superstar-Salesforce consultant. That’s why we’re going to talk about lots of things, including technical, non technical, and intangibles that make you a superstar.

An intangible is something that does not have physical substance, but that bolster and increase our understanding of the soft skills we have. Soft skills are skills or personal qualities that allow us to engage successfully and harmoniously with people. Soft skills include things like:

  • Communication
  • Critical thinking
  • Empathy
  • Adaptability
  • Conflict management

Intangibles revolve around soft skills. They enable, empower and expand the potential of the hard skills that you’ve learned about Salesforce.

One of my goals is your success. I really appreciate the opportunity to walk with you on this journey.
